Ernest Chigama
Administrator
Ernest Chigama is the Administrator at Steuben Center, Bath, NY. Ernest’s educational background includes Masters in Social Work from Temple University and Bachelor’s in Social Work from Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA. Ernest comes to Steuben with 4 years of acute and post-acute experience. Ernest has been with Center’s Health for 5 years. Ernest is responsible for the day-to-day social work events to ensure the best possible resident-centered care at the facility. Ernest believes in an innovative and eclectic approach to care that focuses on both the medical and social models. Ernest enjoys working with other disciplines in improving the well-being of residents and families from different walks of life.
Desteny Reed
Director of Social Work
Desteny has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Mansfield University. Desteny has worked with many different populations, bringing a wide variety of skill to the team here at Steuben Center. Desteny has a passion for advocating and ensuring the needs are met for one of our most vulnerable populations. Here at the Steuben Center, Desteny is responsible for a variety of day-to-day Social Work events to ensure the best possible resident-centered care. Desteny enjoys getting to know each resident on an individual level and working close with the other departments here at the Steuben Center to best meet the resident’s needs.
Aleesia Barber RN
Director of Nursing
A local Community college nursing graduate, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She has been working in the healthcare field since 18. Starting out as a CNA and working her way up. Aleesia comes to Steuben Centers with experience in acute/ post-acute care, and care for the geriatric population. She strives to make short-term rehab or long-term care a comfortable time in someone’s life. Striving to make an environment where residents feel at home and as though they were family—because that’s exactly what they become.
Mickayla Willis OTR
Director of Rehabilitation
Mickayla has a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Keuka College. She has a strong devotion to the geriatric population and to helping people achieve their highest potential. Occupational therapy is a passion that lives deep inside her and she truly believes that you do not work a day in your life if you are doing what you love. Mickayla started out fresh from college as a treating clinician at Steuben Center and moved gracefully into the Director of Rehabilitation position. Steuben Center is a place that feels like home to her, not only because she loves her job, but because she holds valued relationships with the staff and residents within.

For the absolute highest quality of care, Steuben Center staffs medical providers on each unit who stay in constant communication with leadership throughout the day. Team collaboration is our forte, and this commitment helps us maintain an unbeatable continuum of care.
Our team also works hard to keep therapies as consistent as possible, tracking all communications through an advanced electronic medical record system. This ensures immediate transmission of information across the entire care network.
